Golden Voice

I was watching Celine Dion's concert on ntv7 this afternoon. Damn, she looks good! I've always loved her voice ... and I am glad to crown these few other singers that i believe own incredibly super voice - Mariah Carey (totally unbeatable), Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Brian McKnight, the late soul star Luther Vandross, George Michael and a lot more.

I'm not saying our local singers are not good. We have some, who are really good - the fastest rising queen of jazz Noryn Aziz, Sean Ghazi (apparently he's my cousin - yes, first cousin), Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Jaclyn Victor, Sheila Majid, Atilia Haron and Salamiah Hassan (daughter-mother), Melissa Indot, and etc.

Why am I talking about this? Well, firstly because I have passion in singing and secondly is because of my concern in our entertainment industry that drives me to just write anything I want. *I love blogging already* :-)

I am proud to say that our entertainment industry is improving (okay, maybe not in album-selling) but as a whole, I am saying in terms of the quality of the singers. The birth of new singers such as Noryn Aziz, Sean Ghazi, Atilia Haron, has added some colours to our industry and it is with great hope that one day it will be as good as the international industry. let us pray hard for this! to be frank, I am also dreaming of being a part of the industry. :-) there is nothing wrong with that right! :-)

I myself used to take vocal class for about a month. Just wanted to feel what it is like. :-) my vocal class was in Learn-To-Sing Centre in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. And my vocal teacher was a Philipino. A lot of things to learn - the voice projection, and how to sing effortlessly .. Not easy, but it's good to just enrich my knowledge in vocal. :-) I am still looking for a great vocal teacher - I was thinking of Noryn Aziz, but i know that she's super busy ... as for now, I need a lot of exposure in stage performance - just a note to everyone, I do perform at weddings, events, and i do back-up singing too. i start small - who knows that one day i might just be the next Mariah Carey ... *think big, think big* :-)

Imagine the headline - 'Mel Mohsen, a newcomer with a golden voice'
LOL!

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all the Muslim in the world ... Selamat Berpuasa.

Happy 51st Merdeka Day, Malaysia.

Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Malaysia will celebrate its 51st year of freedom from British colonialism. So here i am, after 26 years since our former PM era, the most respected Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad ... i could see a lot of boastful enriching development. I am sure proud to be a Malaysian ... :-) I might be exaggerating, but I personally think Malaysia is what it is today, because of our Tun. On behalf of the Malaysians, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you Tun. Thank you...

Speaking of Malaysia ... With its beautiful beaches, interesting places of interest, fantastic shopping spree, fabulous cultural experiences it will sure attract tourists to come visit Malaysia, unbelievably to be a third world-class country. A developing country ... I am so proud to see the skyscrapers, improved roads and highways, the beautiful landscaping, etc. The image of Malaysia now, is creating a lot of possibilities for the younger generations ... to achieve our Vision of 2020.

I am wondering why not many people fly our national flags on their vehicles like we used to ... everywhere was so colourful before ... possibly because of too much frustrations? Talking about that ... i guess we should all feel blessed that Malaysia is one of the safest countries in the world as to its crime rate that is relatively low.

I still love Malaysia, no matter what. A reminder everyone ... Just be prepared for the lean times. But we must always be optimistic! My sincere and best wishes to the fellow Malaysians and I wish for a peaceful and prosperous Malaysia.

Happy Merdeka Day, again ...

Ole-Ole Bali 290808

I've never had a blog before. I just feel that it would be fun to share and document my everyday's adventures, life stories, work, interest, memories, and etc ... Here goes ... my first post. :-)

It's been years ... yup! years ... FINALLY. most of us were at Ole-Ole Bali Sunway Pyramid last night for dinner - Linda, Ejay, Fildza, Osyen, Mas, Wani and myself. We call ourselves the Mass Commites. :-) Ikzal, Din, Af, Yana and a few more of us were unable to make it to last night's gathering.

I was fashionably late as i had to nurse my cat after sending her for spaying. My fluffy was on a heat cycle for few days as it was a bit late for her spaying. My male kitty, sayang was sent for neuter earlier. Fyi, they are both 10 months old now. Fluffy was born on 16th October 2007, while Sayang's on 15th October 2007. Fluffy has been growling to everyone especially sayang ever since she came back from the vet. Poor fluffy. She must be in pain ... It brought tears to my eyes seeing her condition now. She doesn't have appetite to eat. She doesn't play. She's been sleeping ever since. The favourite spot - under my bed. I've been nursing her ever since too.

As I was out, karaoke-ing with my mates (it was supposed to be Euphoria after karaoke), mom sent me a text message saying that fluffy was no where to be found! Omg!!! I was so worried sick, and so many things came to my mind ... had to excuse myself from the karaoke session, rushed home to go search for my fluffy. My bibik, mom and sister, ofy searched the entire house, but failed to find her. Drove back like mad ... all of a sudden, i felt like my adrenaline level went up very high. Believe it or not, once I reached home and as I was looking for her, the mother instinct told me to search in my room ... And there she was ... under my bed. I felt so relieved! Really ... This happened early this year when I brought fluffy back to Terengganu to meet the great grandma ... She went missing ... and I had to make a police report because I was so worried sick of her. I couldn't stop crying ... But then again, she was found at my grandma's house hiding in a cooking pot. My fluffy's so naughty! She loves to play hide-and-seek. :-) Fluffy, please don't do that to mommy again okay ... I decided not to go out until my fluffy is well ... I love my babies, fluffy and sayang so much ... Awwwwww...

Coming back to my gathering - I had a great fun even for a while. We had great laughs. Took a lot of pictures with them and yes, uploaded all of it on facebook! :-) Now everyone is all grown up! ... How time flies ... I'm glad that all these years, we're still friends ... and I hope that we will remain as friends eternally ... xoxo
